Meet Aakriti Agrawal: GET Phoenix Member Spotlight

If you’ve ever been to a GET Phoenix event, you’ve likely met Aakriti Agrawal. If not, you’ve at least seen her radiant smile light up the room. Either way, you owe it to yourself to get to know this amazing person and long-time GET Phoenix member!

What Drives Aakriti?

Aakrit’s goal in life is simple but powerful: leave the world a better place than she found it. Through volunteer work, entrepreneurship, and fostering unique growth opportunities for others, the Nebraska transplant’s impact certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.

What does this look like in practice? Running her own nonprofit: The Nonprofiting Org. Empowering nonprofit leaders to grow their ventures into sustainable organizations, to date Aakriti has helped over 70 community leaders launch their own nonprofits. Spanning environmental education, teaching young girls to code, supporting new mothers, and much more, Aakriti’s impressive track record is a testament to her community-first mindset.

What Does Aakriti Do for Fun?

When she’s not helping nonprofit leaders bring their vision to life, Aakriti is probably on the adventure of a lifetime. A self-proclaimed travel junkie, you’ll either find Aakriti burning rubber on a nationwide road trip or exploring our nation’s most breathtaking national parks—think Black Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Antelope Canyon. And then there’s her infectious love for art. Not just admiring it up close or from afar, either—Aakriti makes her own jewelry from scratch. She even took a silversmithing class upon moving to Phoenix, which she says serves as a reminder that she can do hard things and embrace any challenge life throws her way.

Why GET Phoenix?

When Aakriti moved from Nebraska to Arizona, she grappled with not having a community to call her own — one that matched her community-first values. Not too long after settling in, she found the perfect fit with GET Phoenix.

Her favorite memories? There are plenty. From snuggling puppies at last year’s GET to Give to learning about prioritizing mental health in the workplace, Aakriti found a home with GET Phoenix’s thriving young professionals community. But Aakriti doesn’t just attend, she immerses herself with a fierce desire to serve others. For example, she helped one hopeful attendee eager to change fields kick start their career in data.

One of the coolest things about Aakriti—and there are many—is that she never shows up to a GET Phoenix event alone. She always brings one new guest along for the ride. Why? She knows how tough it is to make friends in a new city, to find a place where you belong without question. For her, inviting a friend or colleague to an event is a win-win: they get to experience the thriving young professional community, and she gets to introduce them to some amazing people.

Her Walk-In Song

If Aakriti had a theme song every time she walked into a GET Phoenix event, it would be “Build Me Up Buttercup” by The Foundations or “Speed Drive” from the Barbie movie. Both songs perfectly capture her fun, upbeat, and welcoming vibe.

Aakriti’s Message to You

If you’re on the fence about joining GET Phoenix, attending networking events, or anything remotely social, she advises everyone to give each organization at least two tries. Things can change, and it’s worth sticking around to see where it goes. And don’t be shy—talk to everyone. Compliment someone, join the conversation, and make sure to follow up with new connections after the event. In her words, that’s where the real magic happens.

Aakriti is a shining example of someone who makes GET Phoenix the go-to organization for young professionals to connect, learn, and empower. If you haven’t met her yet, make it a point to say hi at the next event—she will welcome you with open arms!
